My name is Liam Smulders, and filmmaking has been a part of who I am for as long as I can remember.
As a kid, I was always coming up with ideas to entertain the people around me. I made funny videos, experimented with stop-motion, and spent hours editing my own creations. Seeing an idea turn into something people could watch, enjoy, and connect with gave me a feeling that I still chase today.
Over the years, that curiosity grew into a genuine passion for filmmaking. What once started as a way to have fun became a desire to create something meaningful. Today, I study Audiovisual Production at SintLucas in Eindhoven, where I continue to develop my skills, explore new techniques, and discover what I'm capable of as a filmmaker.
I have always had a creative mind, constantly looking for new concepts, different perspectives, and ways to tell a story. When an idea comes to me, I don't just want to leave it as an idea. I want to explore it, develop it, and find a way to make it work on screen.
My style isn't limited to one type of filmmaking. I love incorporating humor, personality, and unexpected moments into my videos, because I believe that making people laugh or smile is something special. At the same time, I enjoy creating serious, cinematic, and emotionally driven visuals. Whether it's capturing a powerful moment, building atmosphere through lighting and composition, or telling a story without saying a single word, I want every image to have a purpose.
I'm still learning, growing, and discovering new possibilities within this craft, and that's exactly what excites me. Every project teaches me something new. Every collaboration gives me a different perspective. And every idea that I bring to life makes me want to create something even better next time.
